WILD ROOTS

The Youth COSMO Periodical, Wild Roots is not a magazine in the traditional sense.

It is a designed learning space, where children don’t just read content, they navigate it. Every spread is meant to invite curiosity, movement of the eye, and promote sensory learning.

This is a nature-based periodical for children aged 7–14 years, designed to be an immersive experience, beyond textbooks.

It respects their intelligence, visual literacy, and attention span.

What makes it different?

Built around how children actually engage

Children don’t read in straight lines. They jump, pause, notice, return.

So we don’t design this like a textbook.

  • No rigid layouts

  • No information-heavy pages

  • No talking down

Instead, every page is designed to:

  • Invite curiosity

  • Guide attention naturally

  • Create small moments of discovery

  • Go 'wow!' and 'ooh!' with a twinkle in their eyes :)

With Wild Roots, the experience deepens, moving from just knowing about nature to thinking, questioning, and connecting with it.

What's Inside?

  • Stories

Stories that place children inside real moments from the natural world. They don’t just read them, they experience them.

  • Exploration-Based Articles

Ideas unfold through everyday observations and connections. Children understand not by memorising, but by relating.

  • Brain Bites

Quick, sharp pieces that spark instant curiosity. Just enough to make them pause, think, and want more.

  • Expert Interactions

Real conversations with people who work closely with nature. Children hear lived experiences, not just second-hand information.

  • Career Pathways

A window into real journeys of working with nature. It helps children see possibilities beyond conventional career paths.

  • Thinking Activities

Activities that go beyond right or wrong answers. They encourage children to question, connect, and reflect.

Digital Version

Take It Anywhere. Explore Anytime.

The Wild Roots periodical is also available in a digital format. Designed to feel just as engaging as the print version. Children can revisit pages, explore at their own pace, and access it anytime, anywhere.

Instead of spending time scrolling or playing games, they can use their screen time to explore and learn something meaningful.

Designed as an interactive PDF, it allows children to watch real-world, informative videos at a click. This helps in deepening their understanding beyond the page and making the experience more immersive.
