Program Structure & Learning flow

Aranyam is a short certificate program that combines guided online learning, intensive field immersion, and post-program application.

Online sessions

Before and after the field program, participants attend a set of guided online sessions.

These sessions help participants:

Develop a field mindset and ethical approach
Understand forest laws, administration, and governance
Learn about wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and citizen roles
Think like a researcher — with patience, method, and questioning

These sessions provide perspective that cannot be learnt only in the field.

On-field learning

The core of Aranyam is a 5-day on-field program in a forest landscape.

Here, participants:

Study forest ecology and biodiversity
Learn wildlife monitoring methods (tracks, signs, camera traps)
Practice data collection, mapping, and interpretation
Engage with forest staff, local communities, and experts
Participate in discussions, film screenings, and reflections

Learning is hands-on, guided, and system-oriented.

Evaluation & post-program work

After the field program:

Participants complete practical and written evaluations
A structured 60-day field assignment helps consolidate learning
Successful completion leads to certification

This ensures learning moves beyond experience into understanding.
