Role Overview​

​

At The Youth COSMO, we create nature-led learning experiences for children through our periodicals, workshops, Earth Kattas, Open Sky Classrooms, and community-driven initiatives.

 

We are looking for a Social Media Content Creator – Video who can help us tell these stories visually — with honesty, depth, rhythm, and a strong sense of the world we are trying to build.

 

This role is for someone who is dynamic, creative, hands-on, visually strong, and deeply interested in meaningful storytelling. We are looking for someone who combines creative thinking with a strong bias for execution — someone who can understand an idea, but more importantly, go on-ground, shoot, edit, deliver, and keep improving with every piece of content.

 

We are looking for someone who has an affinity towards nature, children, learning, and the larger cause that The Youth COSMO stands for.​​​

 

Key Responsibilities​

​

  1. You will be responsible for creating video-first content for The Youth COSMO’s social media platforms, mainly Instagram and YouTube.

  2. This includes shooting and editing reels, short videos, YouTube videos, product videos, event videos, workshop videos, and storytelling-led content

  3. A combination of original video footage, photographs, text, music, sound, and voiceovers will be the content formats you would be working with.​​

 

You will create video content for:

  1. The Youth COSMO periodicals and products

  2. Workshops and nature-led learning sessions

  3. Earth Kattas and community gatherings

  4. Open Sky Classrooms and outdoor experiences

  5. Children engaging with nature, activities, places, people, and ecosystems

  6. Founder-led videos and thought-leadership content

  7. Behind-the-scenes moments from our work

  8. Product-led videos using photos and videos

  9. Instagram reels and short-form videos

  10. YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts

  11. Campaign-specific video content

  12. Original visual stories that communicate the ethos of The Youth COSMO

Engagement Details

  • Duration: Freelance - Contractual (Retainer)| One Year

  • Remuneration: INR 10k-50k. Purely based on work quality

  • Location: Pune 

Qualities required​

​

  • Strong visual storytelling abilities

  • Good shooting and editing skills

  • Comfort with shooting on phone

  • Comfort with DSLR shooting

  • Good communication skills - English and Hindi is mandatory

  • A good understanding of Instagram reels, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube video formats

  • A natural sense of framing, light, movement, composition, and visual rhythm

  • A good ear for music, sound, and pacing

  • Ability to make simple, real moments feel meaningful without making them look staged or forced

  • Comfort with shooting children, nature, outdoor spaces, learning sessions, products, and community events

  • Ability to create content from both video footage and photographs

  • Familiarity with Canva, Instagram editing tools, phone-based editing apps, and other online editing tools

  • Willingness to use AI tools wherever needed

  • A strong delivery mindset

  • The ability to work independently and take ownership

  • Genuine interest in nature, children, learning, sustainability, and The Youth COSMO’s larger purpose

What we are not looking for

​

We are not looking for someone who only “makes reels.” We are looking for someone who can observe, capture, and shape stories — whether it is a child discovering something in nature, a group working on an activity, a quiet moment during a workshop, a product being used, or a founder-led thought that needs to be translated into a compelling visual format.

Must-Have: 

​

  • Experience creating content for Instagram and YouTube

  • Experience shooting workshops, events, children, products, or outdoor experiences

  • Phone videography

  • DSLR shooting

  • Reel editing

  • Short-form video editing

  • Basic long-form video editing

  • Canva

  • Instagram editing tools

  • Mobile-first editing apps

  • Basic photo-video storytelling

  • Music and sound selection

  • Text overlay and captioning sense

  • Basic understanding of AI tools for content creation

  • Ability to work with briefs

  • Ability to shoot indoors and outdoors

  • Timely delivery

  • Ownership of output

 

Good to Have

  • Basic scripting or reel-structure understanding

  • Basic knowledge of YouTube thumbnails, titles, and video formatting

  • Comfort with voiceover-led or founder-led content

  • Interest in nature education, sustainability, children’s learning, or community-led initiatives

Experience and qualification

​​​​

We are not particular about formal qualifications, age, seniority, or the number of years of experience.

​

You could be self-taught, professionally trained, early in your career, or already experienced. What matters most to us is the quality of your work, your eye for storytelling, your ability to observe, your editing sense, your reliability, and your ability to deliver.

We are very particular about the level and quality of work expected. The role will be paid accordingly, based on skills, output quality, and agreed scope of delivery.

Nature of Engagement

​

This is a contractual, delivery-based retainer role.

You must be based in Pune and should be willing to come on-ground for shoots wherever The Youth COSMO’s workshops, Earth Kattas, product shoots, Open Sky Classrooms, and other experiences are taking place.

​

The scope of work, monthly deliverables, timelines, and commercials will be mutually discussed and agreed upon.

​

Selection Process

 

Candidates shortlisted from the initial screening round will be given a creative test.

The test is important because we are not filtering candidates by age, degree, or years of experience. We want to understand how the person observes, shoots, edits, chooses music, structures a story, and delivers a finished piece of content.
